In the First 24 hours of Vacation…

Our van is completely intact and looking rather lovely since it’s trip to the body shop for repairs after the tree incident.

Right before we left the house, Kaleb cut his own hair. It’s not looking like he has a promising career as a barber.

Kaleb woke me up at 3:40 am Monday morning because he had peed all over his sleeping bag. A certain mom forgot to put a pull-up on him before he went to bed.

On the bright side, the pee didn't soak all the way through because the sleeping bag is water resistant.

On the down side, it was dark and I was feeling around trying to figure out where he had peed and stuck my hand in a ginormous puddle of pee.

Did I mention it was 3:40 am?

  1. Oh, the joy of being a mom with boys! I can always tell when mine are going through growth spurts! Hugs...even at 3am!

  2. So wrong that I laughed ... but I so wish we had for warning through a Mummy Job Description or something ... I'd still take on the position ... but then again maybe ignorance at times is bliss?

  3. *Laughing* but I think as moms we all have had things like this happen. Try walking into a room to step in a puddle and see your 22month old buck naked saying Mommy Pee Pee. Oh the Joys wouldn't trade it for the world.

  4. LOL, I had to laugh. Nothing like a bed of pee in the middle of the night!

  6. I hope all the other hours of vacation are pleasantly boring. But then again, it's your family we're talking about...so I'm guessing that boring isn't the right word for it. ;)

  8. From this point onward...I am calling our trips family "adventures." "Vacation" is not a term that can be used for any mom...we work just as hard (or harder) when we go away...Our four days away WIPED ME OUT!

On with the "adventure," I say!
