We picked up a friend and her son to have a lunch and play date last week. Her son, Sammy {almost 3} and Kaleb were sitting next to each other in the van. Sammy’s nose was running a little bit.
Kaleb yelled to us: “Sammy needs a tissue!! His nose is coming out!”
Every now and then Zachary is gazing off into nowhere and then something random just pops out of his mouth.
Z: Mom, you’re pretty young for a grown up.
Me: {snickering}
McKenna: She’s 36!!! That’s not young!
Me: {wondering why I gave her dessert…}
Z: Yeah, but that is closer to the 20’s ~ so it’s pretty young.
While his rounding up/down skills in math need a little work, it’s fine by me!
I like Zachary's math too!

ReplyDeleteOh, how I love his age grouping! I hope my kids catch onto this kind of reasoning! I need comments like that some days when I'm feeling pretty old and decrepit.
ReplyDeletehehe totally cracking up! Oh man I about died in the car when Kaleb said Sammy's nose was coming off!
ReplyDeletelol! Gotta love kiddos!
ReplyDeleteoh, i think he has just learned early the art of flattery :o) in the words of my ever wise and beautiful grandmother:
ReplyDelete"heidi, flattery will get you everywhere."
Oh yeah Zachary - you know how to work the system. LOVE that!
ReplyDeleteClearly you are a cool and fun mommy to be "young" for being old :)
