ReplyDeleteI was surprised, then to see your recommendation, though implied, for Melissa and Doug toys, with no reservations at all. Please investigate the controversy for the past year or so RE: the safety of their products so that you may at least recommend that parents/grandparents use their own discretion in purchasing these toys.
For 15 years, I have used the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio books and website for safe recommendations of children's toys. When I saw your notice of the Melissa and Doug toy sale I went to the Oppenheim site to see which of the company's toys they recommend before I made any purchases. They had none listed. I was surprised, so I then did a Google search and perused the reviews of some of the toys on Amazon. That is how I learned of the controversy. Who knows what the truth is. Each of us has to be responsible for making the best decisions we can with the best information we have at any given time.
None of us can be 100% sure of anything. We do the best we can. You are providing such wonderful blessings with your site that I felt compelled to give you "a head's up". I want you to be able to continue the wonderful work that you do for your family and for so many others.
