Despite the fact of being of sound mind, I am hereby admitting full guilt to the following: Outright bribery.
The reason? Possible tooth extraction
The culprit? Miss McKenna
The bribe? A doll
McKenna’s two front teeth have been very loose and she is unfortunately on the other side of bravery when it comes to wiggling and twisting. Her two permanent teeth were already coming in {and down} and due to lack of space were showing remarkable potential for some major future dental work.
The dentist gave us two options ~ two teeth out in a week by wiggling or schedule an extraction for both to the tune of $280.
Because I am cheap a smart mom, we opted the route of bribery and told her if she could get the two teeth out SOON, we’d take a trip to buy a lovely doll at Target.
The result? A savings of about $250 and a very happy, toothless little girl.
Two pesky, wiggly front teeth for a brand new doll? Sounds like a fair trade to me! Smart idea and great picture!
ReplyDeleteHope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving!

hehe love the toothless grin! I think that was a good savings!
ReplyDeleteWe've had to do some major bribery around here when it comes to teeth also! The most recent one saved us over $400!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is the very same way. We just went through it last week with one on the top and one on the bottom. Most kids love to lose their teeth.
ReplyDeleteI can't blame you. A $30 doll is a lot better than a $250 dental bill. :) And she's cute without her 2 front teeth.
ReplyDeleteWise idea, and love the photo!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds worth it to me!
ReplyDeleteNow she can sing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth." :)
ReplyDeleteLet's not call it bribery...call it persuasion to make the right decision. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo!! You could also use the term "monetary persuasive syndrome"....it sounds so much spiffier than just plain "bribery".
ReplyDeleteAt the rate my daughter is going, I'll have to bribe her with a back hoe. She just isn't that much into dolls, but she sure does love back hoes.
ReplyDeleteA mama's gotta do what a mama's got to do!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing you guys at Target picking the new little one out. She was so excited and more than willing to tell me all about how she was saving you guys all this money and could get herself a new baby!! She seemed pretty pleased with the deal.
ReplyDeleteI'd totally bribe my kids to pull out their own teeth in exchange for a toy! Love the toothless pic...I was just noticing the other day that my oldest's teeth are just starting to look "too small" for her face. Guess we're coming up on that stage ourselves.
