I would like to take a minute to jot down a quick note.
'I am more stubborn than you may ever know.'
So when you refuse to eat your food for two nights in a row, pretending that you have FORGOTTEN how to use a fork, know that I will not back down and spoon feed you like the infant you no longer are.
Even if that means you miss out on ice cream for dessert {by which time, I'm sure you would have recalled how to use your utensils independently again}.
And just to let you know ~ looking at me and telling me that you WON'T back down? Saying that you are more stubborn than me?
Those, my dear son, are fighting words.
I'm in this for the long haul if need be. So buck up and ready yourself, because Mommy is digging in her heels and I refuse to be taken over by a 4-year-old.
Not that I'm naming any independent, strong-willed names or anything.
Love,
Mommy
p.s. I have no idea where your independent, strong-willed streak came from. It certainly wasn't me.
That's great!!! I will use it for my 3 year old...
ReplyDeleteLOL thats hilarious! Those are totally fighting words!
ReplyDeleteSo my question is what do you do when a child wont eat dinner? Obviously no dessert but do you keep it for another meal? What age did you start doing this? Are there any exceptions? I.E. help me!! :-P
This is certainly one of your funniest posts! Hmmm I wonder just where he gets it from???

I need to copy this letter and give it to Caleb...oops, I mean a stubborn child that I know.
ReplyDeleteYou go, Mommy!
ReplyDeleteOOOOoooohhhhhh......that boy has messed up BIG TIME now.
ReplyDeleteI may get a glimpse of the fireworks from here, as the heads butt and the sparks fly.
Can I just give a big echo on Heart2Heart's questions? Help a momma (or two) out...I'm begging. My 2 1/2 year old is driving me insane.
ReplyDeleteThis is all sounding VERY familiar....my son (and I!!) are similarly stubborn, and the battle of the food is raging at our house too. (And I think I'm losing)

ReplyDeleteIt will be fun for you to read your post in 12 years and see if he doesn't have that same personality! Don't get discouraged, just enjoy him!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I have a 3 year old who has a will like that. Thanks for making me laugh and reminding me to hold my ground!
