When I Was a Child

Early Saturday morning we saw a hot air balloon close to our house and the kids stood out on the porch watching it fly overhead.

Laurianna stood on the porch, her chin propped on one of her hands and said, "I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. Ever since I was a child."

My dad and mom have a dog and the kids love to play with him. More times than not, my dad will refer to himself as 'Daddy' when talking to the dog.

While Zachary was over visiting them recently, he asked my dad, "Opa, is Mommy Charlie's sister?"

{I'm really hoping that I don't look that much like the dog....}

Head on over to Mary's at Not Before 7 for some more Tiny Talk Tuesday!!

  1. Tell Laurianna that I'm right there with her. The day the hot air balloon made an emergency landing in my backyard? We weren't home! ARGH!

  2. So cute. Once when our oldest son now 16 was 3, he was eating fried chicken livers with my Grandfather and he said "These are the best chicken livers I've had in years." LOL Like he was soo old... Have a great day! Jenn

  3. LOL! Honestly, your kids should have their own Kids Say the Darndest Things program. They crack me up every Tuesday! =)

    Have a good one!

  4. So sweet, both stories. These are always great! Jamison often says "when I was little."

  6. I too, wish that I could fly away so many times in a hot air balloon. Something is so appealing about no noise and just floating. Reminds me of Winnie the Pooh and he genius plan to get honey!

  7. You do know that 8 is "not a little child", right?! That's too funny! They say the funniest things when they are trying to be grown up!
