Of course, those aren't the only books that are on my list, but it definitely gives me a good start on things!

In no particular order, here are the books that I would like to read this fall:
My non-fiction list:
Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp. This has been on my list for some time...but my husband has agreed to read this one along with me and hopefully we'll have it done this fall together. :)
The Key to Your Child's Heart by Gary Smalley
Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl by Lysa Terkeurst
Blue Like Playdough by Tricia Goyer ~ I've started this one already and am loving it!
My fiction list:
Mitford series by Jan Karon. There are eight books in this series and I read them almost two years ago after a friend graciously lent me one for an entire year {ahem}. I finally read the first one and got sucked into the story line.
Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. I'm pretty sure the last time I read these books was a little over 9 years ago. 'Bout time to read them again!
Home to Harmony by Philip Gulley. A reader emailed me after reading my list and said that if I enjoyed the Mitford series I needed to check out this series by Gulley...so I added it! Thanks, Amber!
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
Return Policy by Michael Snyder
Dawn's Prelude by Tracie Peterson
The Carousel Painter by Judith Miller
Farraday Road by Ace Collins

I have no doubt that there will be other books that I will pick up along the way. Any suggestions for me to add to my list? :)
p.s. I'm also linking up to 5 Minutes for Mom and their monthly "What's on Your Nightstand." Some more great book suggestions there too!
If you can't find some of the Mark of the Lion series, it might be on my bookshelf.
ReplyDeleteIf you like the Mitford series, you'll like the Harmony series by Philip Gulley. The first book is called "Home to Harmony". They are great!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Mine will be posted on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI've read the 1st book in this series and loved it. I have the other 2, just need to get to them. I LOVED Redeeming Love!! One of my all time favorites! Return Policy and The Carousel Painter are on my list also. I need to put Tracie's book on my "hope to read" list!!
ReplyDeleteMy list will be up on Monday morning.
Blessings,

Looks like a great list Jo! I am working on my post now :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat list. ...Bible Study Girl, I need to read that. And I LOVE Shepherding a Child's Heart. I want to read it again.
ReplyDeleteI had Shepherding... on cd--now to find it since I never finished listening to it! It was good--I just can't ever seem to finish non-fiction books--lol!
ReplyDeleteJolanthe, I'm voting for Return Policy (by that guy Michael Snyder)!!!
ReplyDeleteMimi, that goes for you too!
Seriously, thanks for reading along. And I do hope you enjoy the story. But even if you don't, I'd love to hear your thoughts about it when you're done.
Have a terrific weekend!
Mike
Oh - Return Policy! That's on my Amazon wish list and I'm hoping someone (aka: my husband) makes sure it shows up here for Christmas. Loved Snyder's first book and I bet this one will be just as great!
ReplyDeleteLisa TerKeurst's book looks really good too -- I'll have to check that one out.
Thanks for being part of Fall Into Reading, Jolanthe!
Redeeming Love is on my Fall Challenge list too. Can't wait! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Mitford series, very much enjoy Francine Rivers, although I haven't read The Mark of the Lion series, I took Phillip Gulley on the recommend of my favorite Librarian and I think we could swap libraries and do pretty well!! I don't do as much non-fiction, but Blue Like Playdough sounds tempting!!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! This is my first time...
Mark of the Lion and Redeeming Love are two of my favorites. I just might have to do a bit of dusting off myself. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteThe Mitford series was fun and I am interested in Blue like Playdouhg too. Have fun with the challenge1
ReplyDeleteI could stand to dust off some parenting books myself!
ReplyDeleteAnd Mitford sounds like hte perfect location to spend the fall!
I've heard that Redeeming Love is an awesome book! I haven't read it yet myself but hopefully I will once I get all my other books read.
ReplyDeleteRedeeming Love is probably my favorite book in the whole entire world! I hope you love it! If I could, I would make it required reading for everyone, male and female!
ReplyDeleteWow you have some really great books planned! Love, love Mitford seres, Mark of the Lion series and Redeeming Love. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI love the Mitford series and the Mark of the Lion series!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteYou have an interesting list.
I haven't read any of Francine Rivers books. I have been wondering how good she is!? I also am reading the `Mitford Series`. Somehow #3 in the series is missing. I like Tracie Peterson. I have her `Desert Roses` series.
Enjoy reading,
Joyful
What a great list. I'm generally a nonfiction girl myself -- love the title Blue Like Playdough, by the way; I hadn't heard of that one :) -- but I'm also a huge Mitford fan. I just finished reading The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein, and enjoyed it. Maybe you'd like that one, too -- kind of like the Narnia books, with very imaginative characters and settings. Happy reading :)
