This picture has been sitting in my files for a few months and tonight this song from Psalms was going through my head:"I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit, out of the miry clay. I will sing a new song!"Psalm 40: 1-2
A friend of ours recently miscarried at 17 weeks and my heart has been breaking for her and her family. After talking to her today, I am so very thankful for our amazing God and the wonderful peace that He is surrounding them with, and the friends He is providing to lift them up and help them through.
The hope only He can give.
And knowing that no matter where we are, He is willing to drop everything to pick us up. Hold us. Listen to us cry and grieve along with us.
Thanks, Lord for your compassion. Your tenderness. Your peace.
This post made me teary. The picture is so fitting for that verse. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! I miscarried a little boy at 17 weeks, also...back before Owen. I will pray for your friend!

Oh, 17 weeks. That's hard. I'll pray for her, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat verse...and great visual to go with it. Thanks!
Pray God will bring healing and comfort to your friend.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad and so hard. I often think of my miscarriage (much earlier) and my heart breaks to know someone else is hurting right now. Its a loss and I'm so glad she has you to pray for her and to try to comfort her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the verse. I was just thinking yesterday that I was having what I call a "mud moment." That's where I feel stuck in the mud for one reason or another and I just cry out to God to lift me up.
ReplyDeleteI'll pray that God will continue to comfort your friend as she goes through this experience. It sounds like she is on the path to healing. God is so faithful!
Have a good weekend.
