Facebook Needed to Be More Addicting

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy here.

That is obviously said with HEAVY sarcasm people.

It's bad enough that friends that I haven't spoken to in at least 20 years are finding me on facebook and I feel compelled to catch up on what they've been up to.

And then other friends update their status and let us know the weather, or what they're eating...and somehow it is MUCH more interesting than what is going on in my life. Really? You had Cheerios for breakfast? Skim or whole milk?

If status updates and family pics aren't enough to keep me busy for hours, facebook has roughly a million {give or take a few hundred} apps and boxes and games I can play to waste my day away.

Thanks so much to my friend Libby, I now have a new obsession. Lining up simple jewels in nice little rows {while creepy guy voice reminds me - one minute}. You Bejeweled Blitz fans know exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm just warning you now - DO NOT START PLAYING! I'm serious. It can be addicting. Seriously so. And then if you top my score it'll make it worse for me, since I'll have to try and top you...and this could get very difficult for all involved.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

  1. Oh I am so hearing you. My friends have been nagging me for ages to join facebook and finally just week I took the plunge. I think I have already wasted a few hours there and haven't even taken a quizz or played a game hehehe

Love your blogs by the way. I'm a fellow homeschooler from downunder. :)

  4. For super-duper, crack-like addiction, try out Farm Town. Seriously. I spend way too much time thinking about my crops! :)

  5. I relate 100% . . . I look at it as my "relaxation time" and try to limit how long I sit there and play.

  6. Yeah, I'm a bejewelled fan. It was down for 2 days and I wasn't happy about it. Thats when I realized that I just might have a problem.

  8. You are so right! On a serious note: I quit facebook (twice) cause I was addicted. My little children and my home was being neglected. I would get upset if they interupted my facebook addiction. Honestly, does anything on facebook affect my eternity or anyone elses? Does it really HELP our family life? Even when I was not at the computer I was still consumed with FB. I found my mind was on pictures of old friends and their families or lifestyle or I was dreaming up my next best 'status update.'
Be true to yourself and to each moment the good Lord has given you. Use each moment WISELY. Yes it is fun but is it beneficial? I suppose we could say the same to our school age boys who are hooked on video games.
I don't want to be a party pooper but I know I will one day need to give an answer to all that I have done in the life God has given me.
    Blessings!

  9. I avoid those games like the plague! I know myself too well. Once I get started, I won't stop! :) That's why I haven't let any of my friends get me hooked.
