There's only one month left of the Spring Reading Thing over at Callapidder Days and after I reviewed my list I realized I've finished all my fiction books - and even squeaked in a few non-fiction. And there's still time!! :)I picked up Kiss by Ted Dekker from the library this week. I am IN LOVE!! I have never read a book by Dekker before but I can tell you I will be scrounging the library shelves in the upcoming weeks and months to read more!
Kiss is Dekker's latest book {written with Erin Healy}. After a horrible car accident, Shauna, wakes up after having been in a coma for several weeks and remembers nothing of the past 6 months of her life. She struggles to remember anything ~ her boyfriend, what happened that night ~ and then discovers she is somehow 'stealing memories' from others. I can't give much more information than that, but I will tell you that it's filled with suspense, action...but I did figure 'most' of it out about 2/3 of the way through. Definitely didn't stop me from reading it or from wanting to read more from Dekker!
This week I read through half of a new book by Jackie Kendall called Free Yourself to Love: The Liberating Power of Forgiveness. I've already gleaned some great nuggets from this book and will be posting about them in upcoming weeks. The book should be finished up this week and I'll soon post an author interview with Kendall too ~ so stay tuned!
Here are the books that I currently have stacked up to work on this week/month:
- Ted Dekker books...oh yeah, I'll be looking for those!
- Assaulted by Joy: The Redeption of a Cynic ~ Stephen W. Simpson
- The Unexpected Adventure ~ Lee Strobel / Mark Mittlelberg
- Finding Favor with the King: Daily Inspirations ~Tenney
- Free Yourself to Love ~ Jackie Kendall
- Grace Based Parenting ~ Dr. Tim Kimmel

DEFINITELY read Dekker's trilogy Black, Red, and White.. I just finished them and they are the first ones by Dekker I have read. They are absolutely excellent. A really good analogy of baptism actually.
ReplyDeleteI've never ready any of Ted Dekker either, but I have THR3E here just waiting to be read~I ran across it while packing:) Maybe next week at the beach I'll have some time!
ReplyDeleteKiss is on my TBR list. I so want to read this book.
ReplyDeleteMan, my list just grows and grows, yet barely gets attacked :) You go momma!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to add that to my library list - definitely read the Red, Black, White books; they are some of the most different books I've ever read, but I really enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the others on Dekker's books mentioned. I haven't read Kiss. Looks like some good items on your list!
ReplyDeleteI got Dekker's audiobook Adam when it was on sale at audible.com, and it wasn't great. But a friend of mine told me that it was a serial work for a magazine or something, and that it's not representative of his stuff, so I want to read a "real" Dekker book sometime too.
ReplyDeleteI read Black, Red, and White by Dekkar and need to get around to reading more of his stuff.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeign Dekker's name come up - I better check these out! Love your blog header - very cute!
ReplyDeleteI have got to remember Ted Dekker next month. I have Kiss on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a huge Ted Dekker fan, but I was never interested in his books until I saw Kiss. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Jackie Kendall...can't remember if I read something else of hers or not. But I am interested in Free Yourself to Love and can't wait to see what you think of it.
I also enjoyed Grace Based Parenting and several other of Dr. Kimmel's books.
You have a list of books that I am unfamiliar with, but they all sound interesting. I have read one of Lee Strobel's books and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave you read Grace Based Parenting? I think it's one I might benefit from reading.
