Lockdown

A certain 3 year-old is all around, and he is into everything. And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING. No exceptions. Despite Mommy's desperate pleas. Despite (ahem) displinary measures. The world is to be explored. And so explore it he does. In fact, as I was putting this post together and left the computer alone for a moment, he managed to actually publish this post while it was in the planning stages...see? Cupboards, drawers, refrigerator, oven, microwave, closets are all fair game. Bookcases to be climbed. And now just recently he's figured out how to open the last of the child safety locks - so the medicine cabinet is no longer safe. And since we already found out this summer that he can open child safety caps on medicine bottles, and we'd rather not repeat that experience, we've resorted to desperate measures.

Years from now I'm sure that we will all get a good laugh out of it (and thank goodness for blogging so I can pull this all back years from now to haunt remind him of these moments at key times ... like his wedding. :)

May I present for your laughing and comic enjoyment a picture of our newly updated safety precautions in our bathroom.

All I need to do now is find a good safe hiding place for that key....

  1. Oh yes, I have this sort of boy too! I suggest you hang the key around your neck, or add it to your general house/car key bunch. That is where I keep the keys to my pantry (I have found my ds 3, hanging by his hands from the top shelf, having climbed up the other five)and the schoolroom craft cupboard (glue, paint, scissors and markers...) In a mixed bunch they are not so easy to identify and the minutes of silence it takes to find the right key are generally enough to locate the child and keys!! Gill ;)
