Hide and Seek

Generally while we are driving in the van, one of our MANY kids cd's is playing in the background. After months of listening to various kiddo music, I went on strike and dared to play the RADIO. Big people music. There was a little fussing at first, but they all finally settled down and listened in.

The song "Hide" by Joy Williams was playing:

"You don't have to hide, you don't have to hide anymore...

you don't have to face this on your own, you don't have to hide anymore."

McKenna sat quietly thinking in her carseat listening to the song and when it was over she asked, "Why doesn't she want to play hide and seek anymore?"

I about cracked up at the look on Laurianna's face - that exasperated "I can't believe you don't get it" look - "They aren't talking about a GAME. They are talking about hiding from GOD."

Head on over to Mary's at Not Before 7 for some more Tiny Talk Tuesday.

  1. that's cute! my kids actually ask to listen to "God music"...i try to respond that there is no other kind of music...the rest is just NOISE.

but they do have a liking for shania twain:0)

there is nothing better than hearing your 7, 6, 3, 2 year old's singing in the van..."i'm not cool, but that's okay, my God loves me anyway!"

  3. So cute about playing hide and seek. Love to see how they relate things to what they know.

Sometimes I have been known to go on kids' music strike too!

  4. HAHAHA! That is so funny. I have often wondered what K thinks of the lyrics at times...
